Open lectures by Professor Ulrike Müßig from the University of Passau

From October 15 to 31, the Faculty of Law and Administration will host Professor Ulrike Müßig, Head of the Chair of Civil Law and the History of German and European Law at the University of Passau. She will stay at the University of Gdańsk as part of the "Visiting Professors at the University of Gdańsk" program.
During her stay, Professor Ulrike Müßig will give two open lectures: October 21 – “What is the Specific European in the European Constitutional History?” and October 28 – “Human Dignity as Interaction in Past and Present”. Both lectures will be held at 12:15 in Auditorium B.

Open lectures by Professor Ulrike Müßig from the University of PassauProfessor Ulrike Müßig studied law at the University of Würzburg, University of Cambridge, and Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas. In 1995, she completed her doctorate. Five years later, she obtained her habilitation at the University of Würzburg. Since 2000, she has been employed at the Faculty of Law of the University of Passau, where she has served as Dean, among other functions. Professor Müßig's research interests include the history of European constitutionalism, the history of the supreme courts, the Roman–Canonical inheritance law in medieval Germany, and the history of ideas in the 18th century. Throughout her scientific career, she has received numerous scholarships and awards. Among other accomplishments, she managed the research project "Europe's constitution needs communication", implemented under the ERC Advanced Grant (ReConFort). She is a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften) and the Royal Historical Society as well as a corresponding member of the Andalusian Society for Legal History Studies (Ilustre Sociedad Andaluza de Estudios Histórico-Jurídicos). She was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Law of Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas and of Université Panthéon-Sorbonne.
